 CONGRATULATIONS GROATS!
Groats 2007 2008 Riverside Replicas League Champions
Congratulations to Groats, the Riverside Replicas Division Two League Champions!
Finishing their campaign with a stylish 5-0 win over Seaview, they proved themselves worthy of the title.
Naver United ran them close but Groats are masters of all they survey and deserving champions.

Elsewhere, Sharks caused upset defeating Central Utd 2-1 - even if they did ride their luck towards the end. This victory lifts Sharks off the bottom and leaves their rivals, Ashes to finish last.

Naver United and Jnr Swifts played out a tight contest, the match ending in a 2-2 draw. Watten and Jnr Swifts both finish on 43 points - goal difference in the 7s doesn't count. Naver are promoted and there will be play-off's to decide who joins them.
But the big story today is well done Groats!

 CONGRATULATIONS HALKIRK!
Halkirk 2007 2008 Skinandis League Champions Congratulations to Halkirk, the new Skinandis Division One League Champions!
Seeing off Thurso Comm with an impressive 4-0 victory, the village side have proved themselves worthy of the title.
They are the cream of the crop for season 2007/2008.

Well played indeed.

Thurso Comm and Staxigoe kept the title in doubt until the very last day of the season. They can be justly proud of their footballing exploits this season. It was a close call and both have been unlucky.

As the cliche goes, there can only be one winner, and Halkirk, with slick passing and deadly attacks have provided many memorable moments this season, including victory in the 7s Charity Shield. They're now double-winners, the best of the best.
Nice one.
 THURSDAY NIGHT AT NAVER PARK!
Three Teams battle it out! What an end we're gonna have to Skinandis Division One.
It's unbelievable!!

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! (or NOT perhaps!)
Goal difference doesn't count in 7s football so this season our Skinandis League Title can go three ways...
If Halkirk win or draw against Thurso Comm they win the league. If not, the title lies in doubt and Thurso Comm earn themselves a play-off - and in THAT scenario Staxigoe United could JOIN THEM if THEY defeat Penguins!

Meanwhile, at the arse-end of the table, Lybster are relegated.
Wick Celtic and Antarctic Thistle are DANCING ON ICE - but who will avoid the skate-off?
And if it snows, will Penguins have an added advantage?

Naver Park is the place to be on Thursday night. Spread the word and lets hope for a great turnout!
The 7s Video will cover the Halkirk v Comm game while keeping an eye on the other park. Video will be online shortly afterwards.

Players pre-order your end of season club DVD!
The project has run out of hard disc space and so far we've received just 4 DVD orders.
As things stand filming WILL continue but WITHOUT the cup competitions. Highlights are in storage but cannot go online. This is frustrating for everybody, especially me as it means a backlog of work to catch up on, just when things were bang up to date. The project runs out of video tape this week. Help raise funds for a new hard drive (its also for bringing previous seasons to the web) and order a disc or two if you can.

FOOTBALL DODGY!

We'll keep you posted. Discuss prospects for play in the 7s Forum.

 1st November 2007
Following a committee meeting Wednesday evening, we are pleased to announce the following...

Caithness 7s Charity Shield
  • The first division will play until matchday 7 then break for five weeks to be replaced by a special competition. This will allow both divisions to finish around the same time which will be great for the final cup day and it's hoped this will satisfy first division players who felt their league was too short this year.
  • Introducing The Caithness 7s Charity Shield - a two group top division tournament to find the ultimate 7s team! Matches will take place over four weeks with two teams from each group entering a final two round all-action knockout stage. Tournament Fixtures will be released soon.
  • On the day of the 7s Charity Shield final we'll be hosting a terrific fundraiser - The 7s All-Star Penalty Competition. Three kicks per entrant. Two goals from three will allow you to make the cut for the next round. A 7s Penalty King Trophy is up for grabs. Entry fee will be 1 or 2 pounds per player with money going to several good causes, including our video sponsor The Samaritans. We'll be on the look-out for volunteer goalkeepers over the coming weeks, and the top two from both divisions (statistically) will be invited to perform, with a 7s Star Goalkeeper Award for the best man between the posts.
All events are set to take place every season. More Details Soon!
  • The Division Two fixture list has been modified and JGC (who have left) matches have been shifted to the 8.30pm pitch two time-slot. Teams set to play them gain a free week and a 3-0 win. Changes take place from matchday 8 and revised fixtures are now online.
  • There's been an amendment to league rules regarding suspended players. Banned men can no longer participate in club transfers until suspensions are lifted.

The 7s forum is for talking! Discuss These Matters

No Updates this week?
David T may be offline for a period of days while a ADSL problem is resolved.
"It's not that I didn't pay a bill. Really! From Monday morning my net connection will be gone. It may take up to five days to have the issue resolved."

In the meantime 7s chairman Willie C will keep you updated via the 7s Forum

Seaview supports the Video!
Seaview paid the twenty pound fee to become the first 7s team to support the 7s Video.
A big thank-you to them.
"We're hoping clubs come forward and back the project. It's survival relies on them getting behind it.".

More Video Woe
The PC purchased to capture and transcode the video is out of action having suffered an electrical fault and it means quality video is on hold.

"It's frustrating without the firewire card as the replacement streaming video quality sucks."

Without the main PC the video will clatter to a hault after a couple more rounds.

"Lets hope we get the machine repaired or replaced and back in action soon."
